Welcome to "Forget-Me-Not" Romania presentation website.

The goals of FMN are to provide disabled Romanian orphans with a caring family type home, a good quality of life & teaching so that they may live as normal lives as possible. This is to be carried out by means of a family type care home, which does not have an institutionalised atmosphere, a programme of professional recovery therapy at a special needs center, and the direct involvement of both British & Romanian volunteers who show & teach the children love, affection & respect.

The foundation has the strengths of a good organisational structure, employing people with experience in dealing with special needs children, volunteers who are committed to the welfare of the children's development and recovery, a modern home with excellent facilities, a beautiful garden with flowers, fruit trees and an attractive playground, a good therapy and learning system.

Fundatia "Forget-Me-Not" Romania has been operating in the field of child protection and reintegration into community since 2002. At this site, you will discover all about our activities and projects, as well as about who we are, and how you can support us to provide better service for the children with disabilities and special needs.

FOREWORD

"Worldwide there are many children who suffer as a result of war, disease, disability, famine or abuse & it impossible to help many of them without having enormous resources. The FMN foundation is a small but determined organisation to help just a small number of 5 children, initially, but with a pinpointed focus on their needs. These children have not only been abandoned by their parents, & consequently received very little love or affection in a state-run orphanage, but have the added disadvantage of being disabled - some both physically & mentally. The FMN foundation seeks to improve the quality of their lives, teach them love & respect for one another & provide them with regular treatment & teaching from experienced therapists who will help them to develop to lead as normal lives as possible."
